Cordon bleu in air fryer

The cooking in an air fryer makes cordon bleu, already tasty in itself, even more interesting, giving it a crispy yet light texture, thus making it healthier.  Serve the cordon bleu on a nice serving platter and cut diagonally to expose the heart of melted cheese, making it truly irresistible! The first bite reveals a texture crispy thanks to the golden breadcrumbs, while inside the meat is tender and succulent, and the cheese melts in a creamy way.Thanks to the air fryer, we can enjoy this dish without the excess oil that usually weighs down traditional frying.

Prepare three ready-to-use bowls, one with the flour, one with the well-beaten eggs and salt to taste, one with the breadcrumbs.

Prepare the chicken slices

On a cutting board lay 4 slices of chicken on which place a slice of cooked ham and one of cheese. Next, overlap the chicken slice thus stuffed by closing it in half that will will go to cover the contents. Press well with your fingers to carefully seal the cordon bleu.

Season the chicken slices

Once well sealed pass the cordon bleu first in flour, then in egg and infinally in breadcrumbs, on both sides.

Bake in the air fryer

Coat the resulting bundles with a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and place them in the basket of the air fryer set at 195° for 15 min.

And finally... the main event!

Storage

You can store leftover cordon bleu in the refrigerator for a couple of days, or freeze them in the freezer and cook them in the air fryer when you feel like it.
